Xplore Mondo started from a simple frustration: the guides doing the best work in Rome were invisible behind three layers of resellers, and travellers were paying more for a worse version of the same morning. We spent a decade building those operator relationships. This is them, direct.
We know the operators personally
Every guide and operator on Xplore Mondo came out of ten years of working in Rome — meeting owners, walking their routes, sending them travellers. Nothing is scraped from a wholesaler feed.
Your money goes to the guide, not a reseller chain
One commission, agreed with the operator up front. No layer of resellers each taking a cut, which is why the same tour often costs less here than on the big marketplaces.
Local answers, not a call centre
Meeting points are checked, start times reflect what actually works in August heat or November rain, and if something changes the operator tells us directly.
Vetted before it is listed
New operators are reviewed and approved by hand before a single tour goes live. If we would not send a friend on it, it does not get published.
Rome first, then the rest of Italy
Rome is where our relationships are deepest, so it is where our inventory is deepest too. Florence, Venice, Milan, Naples, Bologna, Turin and Palermo are live and growing as we vet operators city by city — we would rather add a city slowly than list tours we have not stood on.
